Generac is seeking a Sr Staff thermal systems engineer to contribute to Generac's home standby systems. As a member of our team, you will shape the direction of next generation renewable energy products at Generac. You must have a genuine passion for engineering products that will fundamentally change the world's energy infrastructure and thrive working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Model and architect next generation productsArchitect battery, PCB, and enclosure for thermal performance that operates at the boundary of performance.Create models and prototypes to test new technologies and future looking product "˜should' costing.Experience with failure analysis and reliability testing. Proficient in component derating and performance over life.Knowledge of and experience with thermal technologies for passive and active coolingExpert in CFD and FEA simulation software.Shares information quickly and knows all the stakeholders on a program. Communicates effectively and articulates problemssolutions with precision.Bias for action and completing work. Leads effective meetings and drives decision making. Comfortable challenging engineering decisions cross-functionally.Minimal Qualifications:BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or the equivalent in experience with evidence of exceptional ability.10+ years of system design experience on (1M+) volume products and 5+ years in an architect or technical product owner role.Demonstrated excellence in communication.Product architect experience in electrical or firmware engineering.Experience in PCB engineering such as fabrication and assembly technologies, strainstress analysis, thermal management, and connectorcable engineering.Experience in CFD and FEA software. Experience with model test correlation.Expert in mechanical engineering physics such as boundaryforce diagrams, stressstrain, 3D thermodynamics, and advanced manufacturing techniques.Knowledge of ULIEEENFPAANSI standards stemming from NFPA 70 and related to ESS.
