Super smart but also super fun - and always fueled by hope.Position PurposeThe Digital Strategist leads, in collaboration with the Client Service Team, the creation of digital marketing plans for one or more of BDI's clients, and creates digital strategy to acquire, cultivate, retain, and upgrade online donors. This position combines significant strategic planning, digital media management, email platform, analytic and account management experience, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment with ever-shifting schedules and priorities.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelops and presents strategic plans and budgets covering digital fundraising efforts across multiple digital channels for clients across multiple verticalsConsult with clients educating and informing on digital strategy specific to client goalsParticipate in creative and strategy meetings to ensure digital campaigns are accurate, timely and following our overall digital strategy recommendationsProvides strategic direction for email marketing campaigns, website marketing, digital media including programmatic, paid social and paid search efforts, social media strategy, emerging media and other digital marketing tacticsEvaluates client campaign results reports; identifies performance, trends and recommends modifications and opportunities for growthCollaborates with the Creative team, Client Service team, and the Digital team to create engaging network and custom digital campaigns to support client goalsStays current with and conducts research and evaluation of emerging digital trends, channels, best practice and prepares recommendation of implementation into BDI Digital strategyConducts research and evaluation of emerging digital platforms and tools and prepares recommendation of implementation into BDI Digital strategyLeads client-facing, internal meetings, and partner meetingsEnsures deadlines, campaign goals and budgets are metAssists directors and other teams with other activities as assignedManages the day-to-day responsibilities of additional Digital Strategists as they are added to the teamOther responsibilities as assignedUnder the direction of the BDI Marketing team, selects topics and writesrecords two pieces of BDI Marketing content per fiscal year (Quick Shots, Inspire, Webinars, and podcasts)Skills and AbilitiesFundraising Skills: Familiarity with digital direct response marketing strategy and tactics, and how to measure the impact of various channels and campaigns; Understanding of current industry best practices and emerging fundraising and marketing strategies; Solid instincts for compelling creative design that will elicit donor actionDigital Marketing Skills: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute marketing plans. Knowledge of and significant experience with online marketing for nonprofits, including all the following disciplines: email fundraising, website marketing, programmatic media, paid search, analytics and paid social; Experience with platforms such as Qgiv, DonorPerfect, Blackbaud Luminate or Online Express, Salsa, Salesforce, or Classy is highly desired. Knowledge of CMS and WordPress a plus; Familiarity with multiple email marketing platforms such as Mail Chimp, Constant Contact, Blackbaud Luminate or HubspotDigital Analytics Skills: Experience generating reports and interpreting data from Google Analytics, and Google Data Studio; Experience with tracking set up with Google Tag Manager; Expertise working with data and using past results to drive future strategy. Must be able to read and interpret data to inform real time campaign optimizations. Ability to create, manipulate and analyze data in Excel is requiredRelationship Building: Must be friendly, trustworthy, knowledgeable, and professional.
