Patients can contact the practice at (239) 225-0129 for Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and pain management.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role for a Medical Assistant at KENNETH J. GALANG, M.D., P.A located in Fort Myers, Florida. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for providing patient care, maintaining medical records, and managing the day-to-day operations of the medical office. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:Assist providers during clinicprocedures as needed.Room patients and prepare for providers; complete system documentation as it appears to meaningful use.Obtain and record vitals in EMR system and assist with charting and EMR documentation. Collect and type patient history for appointments such as family history, social history, and past medical historyAssist with all sterile procedures performed in the clinic including nerve studies and injections.Prepare and process paperwork that needs information or signature.Authorize patient plete all disability, FMLA and work comp forms as well as other necessary forms.Responsible review and name faxes and upload to patient's chart.Responsible for scanning of clinical documents into patient's chart.Keep the physician's exam rooms appropriately stocked of medical supplies and inform DME Specialist when main supplies are low.Handling triage calls and being able to determine ones of urgent matter.Demonstrates compassion, courteous and helpful manner towards patients and their family.Performs related work as required and other projects and duties as assigned.Maintain strictest confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA compliance. QUALIFICATIONS Education: High school diploma or equivalentCertificationLicensure: Certified Medical Assistant or at least 1 years of experience in clinical setting SKILLS:Medical TerminologyKnowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to rehabilitation and pain managementBasic typing and keyboarding skillsStrong organizational and interpersonal skillsExcellent customer service skillsFamiliarity with computers and other office equipmentAbility to maintain confidentiality of sensitive informationAbility to prioritize responsibilities and multitaskMust be able to act calmly and effectively in busy or stressful situationsKnowledge of insurance plans and proceduresRequires adherence to all policies and procedures, including standards for safety, attendance, punctuality and personal appearance.Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with manager and peers
