Job Description:

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for insuring manufacturing processes and associated documentation are efficient, effective and meet Microline Surgical and regulatory requirements. This position is responsible for assisting management in identifying and initiating technical project and programs which lead to improved processes and products, reduced costs or increased output. This position is also responsible for coordinating across functional areas to ensure compliance and best practiceseffort for the company.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The incumbent may be required to perform all, or a combination of the following essential functions as determined by business necessity.Manage the Manufacturing Engineering department including engineers and technicians in support of,Process documentation, including drawings, work instructions, SOPs, etc.Lean and six sigma activitiesDeveloping ERP routers for production buildsNew production equipment and tooling, both internal and externalProcess validationsQMS activities, including NCEs, CAPA, pFMEAs, Management Reviews, etc.Supplier quality and processing issuesIncreased production yields, decreased waste, increased capacities, lower costsNew product designs and introductionsPreventive Maintenance of production equipmentManage facilities maintenance functions and personnel, including coordination of outside resource for facility items, including facility upkeep and cleaningGenerate and maintain budgetsHire, train, mentor and oversee staff members within the Manufacturing Engineering group.Develop key programs and projects to better position Microline Surgical with respect to cost, capacity and qualityImprovements to existing manufacturing processesDevelop and implement new manufacturing processes in support of updated or new productsOptimize processes of acquired processes and productsLead Black Belt programsAssist the head of operations in developing operations goalsNON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: In addition to the essential functions listed above, the incumbent may be required to perform other non-essential functions. Employees are required to follow any other job-related instructions and to perform any other job-related duties as requested by their supervisor.QUALIFICATIONS:BS in Engineering (mechanical is preferred)Minimum of 5 years working as a Manufacturing or Process EngineerMinimum of 8 years working as a technical manager in a manufacturing environmentKnowledge of production standards as well as design engineering standardsMust be a team player with good communication skills (written and verbal)Must have prior lean manufacturing experience with a focus in the medical arenaDemonstrated experience in the supervision and management of engineers, technicians and teams with an emphasis on lean, Six Sigma and related efficiency programsAble to use CAD programs, SolidWorks a plusMiniTab and solid Excel knowledgeProject justifications based on financial analysisREASONABLE ACCOMMODATION: Microline Surgical is committed to the spirit and letter of the Americans with Disabilities Act and, as required by law, will reasonably accommodate otherwise qualified individuals.
