OUR BUSINESSWe are a broadline distributor with a cash n carry operation delivering quality food, service and custom solutions to foodservice operators and restaurants throughout the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut markets. We will be expending our current service market and in doing so need to expand our current procurement team.We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Center of the Plate (COP) Buyer to join our team in the food and beverage industry. As a COP Buyer, you will be responsible for managing the procurement and inventory of meat, poultry, and seafood products. This crucial role entails working closely with suppliers and internal departments to ensure the delivery of quality products to our customers. We are committed to improving our service each and every day to our customers, and this position is a critical driver of our growth. You will also be making purchases for our cash & carry location Food Fest Depot also located in the Bronx approximately 2miles away from Victory Food Service.  ResponsibilitiesCultivate, develop and maintain strong relationships with current and future suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products.Monitor inventory levels and make informed procurement decisions to maintain stock levels and minimize waste.Research and evaluate new products and suppliers to expand the COP offerings and drive sales.Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and profitability.Collaborate with sales team to identify customer needs and develop customized municate with internal departments, including warehouse and transportation, to ensure smooth delivery of products to customers.Stay up to date on food industry trends and regulations to ensure compliance and quality control.RequirementsPreferred Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related fieldMinimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing, specifically in the COP categoryStrong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliersAbility to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with strong attention to detail and accuracyMust be capable to multi-taskExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholdersProficient in Microsoft Excel and other supply chain management softwareKnowledge of food industry regulations and guidelines, including HACCP and FDA regulations.BenefitsHealth Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)Retirement Plan (401k)Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)
