Job Description:

At Kompass Kapital Management, the legal department provides in-house legal services and support to KKM's Operating Companies, including corporate governance and compliance, contract solutions, and risk management. KKM is seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant who exhibits enthusiasm and appreciation for the administrative functions of a department. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless functioning of the department, enhancing its ability to deliver exemplary services to KKM's Operating Companies. The Legal Administrative Assistant will report to the Director of Legal Services.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Manage the Chief Legal Counsel's calendar and appointments. Organization, maintenance, and filing of documents in the legal department files.Perform administrative tasks such as preparing mailings, revising documents, and facilitating document executions.Manage annual administration of entities, such as filing annual reports or other related filings.Track updates regarding entity changes in the department diagram, database, and files.Perform entity formation and termination duties in accordance with state, local, and federal laws.Processing all service of process documents served onto KKM or its affiliates, as well as all department mail.Administer matter management, including running our matter management system, Practice Panther.Assist in preparing weekly and monthly reports for the department and KKM's Operating Companies.Docket deadlines.Facilitate the legal department EOS work, such as maintaining Ninetyio and running department bi-weekly meetings (L10's).Schedule and plan department outings, such as quarterly philanthropy events and legal retreats.Assist attorneys and paralegals with various tasks and assignments.Essential Job Functions:Excellent verbal and written communicationskills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to interact effectively and professionally and provide exceptional service, internally and externally, at all times.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to prioritize workflow and manage projects.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work in a collaborative environment with multiple team members and departments.Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment.Minimum Qualifications:Two years of relevant work experience, in an Administrative Assistant or Executive Assistant role. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.Preferred Qualifications: Associate or Bachelor's degree. Experience in administration at a law firm or an in-house legal department. Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
