For more information about Sungrow, please visit Position:This is a very dynamic and fast-track position reporting to the Regional Field Service Supervisor. The position will be the key member of service team. This position will also be the technical point of the contact person to support sales teams for commercial, industrial and utility-scale businesses. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Perform as a lead on more complex field engineering assignmentsLead the pre-commissioning (with and without grid emulator) and commissioning of solar inverters achieving the milestones agreed with utility scale customersLead Preventive Maintenance projects as neededPerform a variety of engineering assignment involving technology applications involved in the installation, operation, testing and maintenance of central solar inverterLead electrical and electronic troubleshooting and testing of solar inverters and its components in the field or in the laboratory. Use of PQA and oscilloscope is required as neededLead troubleshooting teams to investigate solar plant issues such as DC arrays grid faults, inverter design issues, and utility grid transientsProvide feedback to the engineering team on possible mechanical and electrical design improvementsLead upgrade projects (software and hardware) in the field and interact with customers to explain the technical scope of the projectWork with customer SCADA engineers to set-up systems communication and parametersCreate Field Service procedures for safety troubleshooting, and maintenanceLead BETA projects to determine technical issues before the release of a solar inverterCreate training material, and provide high level technical training to Field ServiceResearch alternative components that can be used in the fieldCoordinate with design engineering on the releaseSupervise other Field Service Engineers andor service providers to make sure the procedures are follow correctlyWork independently in the field and with R&D Engineers to resolve high level technical issues, leading the investigation of root cause of for technology applications for complex projectsApply knowledge of design specifications for more complex systemsprojectsCoordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistic, financial, and program management disciplines to maintain the solar plantsVerify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test proceduresPrepare, deliver and submit technical papers and perform engineering studiesSupport development of technical proposal and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of workConduct site visits, experimental investigations and analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alterative, and provide recommendations Minimum Requirements:7 plus years of overall experience in engineering field5 years of experience in solar invertersMust possess the ability to work with test equipment and hand tools as requiredMust possess customer service, problem-solving skills, and possess decision making and analytical skillsMust possess effective written and verbal communication skillsMust be able to closely follow instruction and pre-established proceduresSOP to perform the ductions of the jobMust be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, power Point and Outlook)OSHA, NFPA70A, Electrical SafetyHave experience andor certification with MV transformersEducation or Desired License and Certificates:Bachelor's degree in Engineering from accredited university or collegeSolar industry experiences are requiredPower Electronics experience is requiredCompetenciesTechnical problem solvinganalytical skillsSelf-starter, strong initiatives and an excellent communicatorSystem and product level mindsetOrganization, detailed-oriented nature and strong initiativeStrong technical support focus and a service oriented individual both with Sales team and customers Travel80% PlusWork Location and Status:Full time, TXNo visalegal sponsorship Compensation:Compensation commensurate with experienceCompetitive benefits package and employee programsStrong personal and company growth opportunities For candidates in the states of California, Colorado, New York and Washington, the anticipated base pay for this role is between $75,000 and $80,000 per year plus OT. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The base pay offered is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, qualifications, experience, education, location, or other factors related to the role.
