Job Description:

Statement of Duties:Performs skilled electrical work at the journeyman level. Installs, tests, repairs and maintains electrical circuits, wiring systems, fixtures, appliances and equipment. Troubleshoots and repairs faulty electrical wiring, defective electrical equipment and machinery such as motors, generators, transformers, switches, sockets, etc. Inspects and tests circuits and fixtures to locate broken wires, loose connections, blown fuses, faulty switches, grounds, shorts and other defects. Uses common hand tools and electrical OHM test equipment such as meters, voltmeters, ammeters, growlers, multimeters, and other test equipment. May remove, replace, and repair electrical parts. May maintain storage batteries. Performs supervision over helpers and apprentices. Perform other duties as assigned.Recommended Minimum QualificationsMust have knowledge of trade practices and safety regulations.Must be able to make oral and written reports of work performed.Must possess a current valid Massachusetts Journeymen's License.Must possess a current valid Massachusetts Class D driver's license.Work EnvironmentThis position primarily works indoors, but may be subject to outdoor environmental conditions, including wet, hot and cold, and exposure to fumes, dust and air contaminants. Noise or physical surroundings may be distracting, but conditions are generally not unpleasant.
