Position SummaryThe Marketing and Community Relations Specialist is responsible for executing the YWCA marketing plan, including creating original content that tells the story about the YWCA mission and its value to donors, clients, volunteers, funders, and the wider community through web, email, print, and social media. This position will also participate in managing and producing events, maintain the donor database, streamline donor acknowledgement, produce regular donor-related reports, and assist in creating the annual report, which is led by the Director of Development & Marketing.ResponsibilitiesMarketing Program· Contributes to the development of the annual marketing strategy, which is led by the Director of Development & Marketing· Executes the bulk of the marketing plan, including ensuring all communications are consistent with YWCA marketing and communication objectives in all publications and outreach, e.g., newsletter, annual report, website, social media, and special events· Utilizes graphic design software to design and produce visual communications· Writes all YWCA social media content to be approved by the Director of Development & Marketing, as well as develops and implements internal processes for social media and creative design requests from YWCA team members· Manages virtual event platforms, donor base software, and donor processing software· Tracks and analyzes metrics related to media articles, online action, and fundraising efforts· Optimizes online engagement by implementing data-driven best practices· Regularly updates websites and compiles reports on user engagement· Creates, manages and maintains all YWCA branding and promotional materials, including relationships with vendors; manages print and merchandise ordersDevelopment Program· Assists with planning and executing fundraising events and programs by working with the Director of Development & Marketing to create sponsorship decks, coordinating logistics, and contribute to planning and implementing annual campaigns· Creates donor acknowledgement communications, including thank-you letters, event invitations, and more; shares responsibility with Director of Development & Marketing for making sure all donations are quickly acknowledged· Interacts regularly with donor database CRM to keep donor information updated, pulls reports on fundraising metrics and coordinate acknowledgement letters and emails· Attends occasional program events on evenings and weekends· Completes other projects as assigned by Director of Development & Marketing.Due to the nature and small size of the organization's staff, all staff members may be required to perform duties outside of their job descriptions.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities· Best practices in nonprofit fundraising and communications· Excellent project management skills· Creating and editing web graphics in Photoshop, InDesign, or similar programs; ability to create and edit video content preferred· Leveraging social media platforms, e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram, to create awareness, engage in advocacy, and increase YWCA brand recognition· Excellent written and oral communication skills, including online communications· Extracting and analyzing marketing metrics· Strong interpersonal skills, ability to be team-oriented and build relationships· Ability to work well with a wide variety of people and to coordinate a diverse range of tasks· Ability to both take direction and be proactive· Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solveMinimum Qualifications3 years' experience in a marketing, communications, or fundraising roleBachelor's degree in English, Communications, or related field of studyConsiderable experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or comparable toolsHands-on experience with CRMs and email platformsGraphic design skillsFamiliarity and high comfort level with social justice language and concepts, comfort communicating about politically charged issues and their impact on women and children and BIPOC communitiesPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree in related fieldCertifications in web or graphic design, communications, and marketing, andor nonprofit management and fundraisingExperience managing large communications projectsExperience creating video content· Experience with HTML and CSSWorking EnvironmentThis position is in an office setting and is mostly sedentary.
