Skanska's construction and project delivery expertise translates directly into maximum savings and quality.General Position SummaryDartmouth College in Hanover, NH, one of the oldest colleges in the United States and a member of the Ivy League, is committed to reducing its carbon footprint and has embarked on a fifteen-year program to transform the heating and cooling energy systems on its campus. This program is referred to as the Energy Infrastructure Renewal (EIR) Program. The EIR Program includes the design and installation of multiple geo-exchange bore fields, district geo-exchange heat pump plants, hot and chilled water distribution piping systems, electrical distribution system upgrades, solar thermal energy storage, and conversions of campus buildings from steam to low temperature hot water heating fed from the geo-exchange plants.Dartmouth College has retained Skanska USA Building to provide Owner Program Management services for the EIR Program. Skanska has an employment opportunity for a Field Representative - Pipeline Construction. The position would be located at Dartmouth College on a full-time basis.Senior Superintendent of pipeline construction - SIS is responsible for field operations on the project(s) assigned in order to achieve timely and profitable completion of each project for the Owner. The Field Representative oversees the construction contractor's field labor force. This position must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as have strong communication and client service skills.Senior Superintendent - SIS Required Qualifications:Major Duties & ResponsibilitiesReview vendor drawings, design documents, specifications, schedules, and related technical data and documentation.Monitor construction activities to verify that construction is progressing in accordance with the project schedule; investigate causes for delays, and validate that responsible contractors initiate corrective actions if behind schedule.Monitor construction activities to verify that contract requirements are being met and that installation conforms to drawings and specifications.Prepare written daily reports.Witness and sign off on Owner inspection hold spect construction site and construction practices to verify prudent industry practices are being met.Confirm that all workers conform to contractors' safety manual and Dartmouth construction safety requirements.Assess the general quality of the construction activities. Initiate Corrective Action Reports when required.Verify compliance with permit-related conditions and requirements.Review contractor quality control procedures and records.Confirm percentage-of-completion and milestone achievements on contractor invoices.Attend progress meetings.Keep Project Manager updated on project status.Maintain an ongoing action item list to track upcoming and delinquent obligations of contractors.Develop Punch List of incomplete andor incorrect items and verify Punch List items get completed.Education andor QualificationsA minimum of ten years of construction site experience.College degree preferred in Civil or Mechanical engineering or related fieldGeneral knowledge of construction processes, means and methods and construction industry rules, regulations, and practices.Specific expertise in earthwork and construction of underground utilities - experience with HDPE piping is a mitment to an Incident and Injury Free work environmentAbility to work closely and collaboratively with other owner representatives, project managers, engineers, contractors, and Owner.Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently in English through both oral and written communications.Ability to work effectively and efficiently under tight deadlines.Ability to work with integrity across cultures and dependent judgment and decision-making skills.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Currently, the company is not considering applicants for this position who now or in the future require employment sponsorship by the company.Our Investment in you:We believe that Benefits should connect you to the support you need when it matters most, and should help you care for those who matter most.
