In addition, we also have operations in AZ, CO, NV, OR, UT, and WA.Job Overview:Under general supervision, performs journey-level duties in the monitoring, regulation, maintenance and operation of a large, state-of-the-art anaerobic digestion facility. Lead Plant Operator will perform routine lab analysis; assists in planning, laying out and reviewing the work of other plant operations staff; make operational decisions based on sound judgment; and performs related duties as required.Essential Functions:Operate the Anaerobic Digestion facility using electronic and computer control systems. (SCADA); interprets gauges, meters, charts and graphs; operates pumps, valves motors and related equipment; reports the need for major or specialized repairs to equipment, machinery and electronic systems; assists specialized trades personnel in making major and or specialized repairs to equipment, machinery and systems; coordinates repairs and maintenance with other department sections and contractors to ensure regular and preventive maintenance is scheduled for minimum system impact.Reviews and reconciles daily plant operational data sheets to ensure accuracy of entered data and makes operational decisions based off of review of analytical and operational spects anaerobic digestions facility equipment to ensure its proper operation in order to minimize interruptions to the plants operationPrepares and maintains a variety or records, logs and reports.Ensures proper operations of online monitoring equipment for anaerobic digesters and gas systems.Ensures facility is maintained in a clean, orderly and safe condition.Provide a safe work environment through personal actions. Identify any safety concerns, as well as cost saving opportunities. Participate in monthly safety meetingstraining.Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsAdditional Skills:High school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by college level course work in biology, chemistry, engineering andor waste water treatment technology: and three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in plant operations.Knowledge of:Advanced principles, methods, practices and techniques for operating pumps, valves, electric motors, diesel engines and SCADA control systems.Operational principal of anaerobic digestion systems.Operational principals of dewatering equipment.Basic practices and procedures of chemical and biological analysis.Safety practices and procedures related to the work environment.Microsoft Office applications and data entry.Ability to:Operate a variety of pumping, treatment and control equipmentAccurately interpret meters, gauges, instrumentation, blueprints and schematic drawingsWork independently and exercise judgment in performing assignmentsPrepare records and reports of work performedOperate and maintain hand and power toolsWrite training or instructional procedures, covering all aspects of plant operationsAnticipate and react quickly to emergency conditionsCommunicate effectively with other operatorsPhysical Requirements:While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; smell; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands or arms.
