Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:Clinical DutiesEscort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for examination.Record patients' medical history, vital signs, and other relevant information.Assist healthcare providers during medical examinations, procedures, and treatments.Administer injections, medications, and vaccines as directed by healthcare providers.Perform basic laboratory tests and procedures, such as blood draws and urinalysis.Prepare and maintain examination rooms and equipment for patient use.Ensure proper infection control measures are followed at all times.Administrative DutiesGreet patients and ensure a welcoming and professional environment.Schedule patient appointments and assist with medical records management.Handle phone calls, inquiries, and requests from patients and other medical professionals.Process billing and insurance claims accurately and efficiently.Maintain electronic health records (EHR) and ensure all documentation is complete and up-to-date.Coordinate referrals to specialists and follow up with patients as needed.Assist with inventory management of medical supplies and equipment.Patient Education and SupportProvide patients with instructions and information about medications, treatments, and procedures.Offer support and guidance to patients and their families, addressing their questions and concerns.Educate patients on preventive healthcare practices and wellness strategies.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent (required).Completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited institution (preferred).Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential (preferred).Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting (preferred).Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and basic clinical skills.Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and medical office software.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.Working ConditionsThis position requires standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.Exposure to infectious diseases and medical conditions is possible.Work hours may include evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of the medical practice.Must be able to carrylift 3 to 5 lbs of weight.
