Job Description:

Duties: You will be responsible for: (1) Serving as the lead medical physician and practicing clinician who oversees and guides the medical and physician care that is provided to all patients, with a continuous focus on consistently improving quality of medical care, medical operations impact and quality of medical operational processes and workflows, and directly managing all of the medical practitioners who provide the direct patient medical care and treatment; (2) Owning, managing, monitoring, enforcing, and continuously improving all medical practitioner policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, programs, to include administrative, professional medical services, quality assurance, education, employee health, community and patient advocacy, person-directed care, and socialregulatorylicensurecomplianceperformancepoliticaleconomic factors; (3) Actively working in a medical doctorpatient capacity focused on internal medicine and providing optimum patient care and treatment at least one day weekly; (4) Reporting to the organizational highest ranking business executive leader and board of directors, and head of the board of directors; (5) Leading critical strategic medical and medical operational transformation initiatives to capably lead a culture of continuous improvement offering the highest available quality of medical care in the industry, while continuously improving the capabilities of the medical offerings and profitability of services and care provided; (6) Acting as the organizational voice, face, and leader for quality of medical care, quality of medical physicians and staff, patient satisfaction, and patient wellness; (7) Leading the charge for a continuously improved medical educational, accreditation, licensing, and training system for all medical practitioners and associated medical and administrative staff; (8) Acting in the capacity of an ombudsman treatment advocate for the patient; (9) Working with the organizational business executive leadership including the board of directors as it relates to continuously updating and replacing medical equipment to provide the best proactive medical treatment and patient outcomes; (10) Monitoring and managing all medical utilization and audit functions; (11) Advising the business executive leadership, board of directors, and all medical physicians where and when necessary; (12) Ongoing review of medical physician and medical staff licensing, credentialing, performance, and complianceregulatory status; (13) Working closely with the executive leadership team regarding overlaps in scope of responsibility and proactively collaborating on policy, procedures, standards, guidelines, etc. Required: Must be an Illinois licensed medical practitioner (MD) with a focus on internal medicine or similar and interested in practicing internal medicine at least 1 day per week.Must have a strong medical administration background (direct staff management of medical physicians and practitioners) to include high skill and experience directly managing medical professionals including medical physiciandoctors, nurses, nurse practitioners, and associated medical and administrative staff.Must have a strong medical administration and medical organizational operations function with specific responsibility for managing and continuously improving medical physician care performance through policy, procedures, standards, guidelines, programs, etc.Must have superb skills in diplomacy, persuasion, collaboration, leadership, transformation, and change management as a medical practice director or medical staff administrator and practicing medical physician in internal medicine or a similar discipline.Pluses: Endocrinology experience as a physicianmedical doctor.
