Every employee takes a person-centered approach that exemplifies the ICARE values (Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence) through empathic communication and partnerships between all persons.Job Responsibilities:- Understand the mission of the Hospital and the Radiology Department.- Perform medically prescribed radiological exams.- Provide patient centered service in CT, IR, MRI, OR and X-ray as needed.- Inject contrast for contrast enhanced studies in CT, IR and MRI per protocol and work flow.- Understand and demonstrates skills applying established procedures for patient identification.- Knowledge of daily QA, QC phantom calibrations and all imaging units and equipment.- Knowledge of radiation safety protocols and the ALARA principle and incorporates them into the performance of all radiology exams utilizing ionizing radiation.- Prepare and clean the exam area before and after each patient.- Recognize first signs of medical emergencies and escalation procedure.- All other tasks as assigned by Supervisor or designee.All Radiologic Technologists in Assignment Levels II and III shall receive a differential of $7,500 per annum to be cross-trained on different modalities of radiologic imaging and to be cross-assigned (once trained) to different imaging settings depending on patient volume and staffing needs within a facility.Minimum Qualifications:1.Valid license and current registration to practice Diagnostic Radiography as a Radiologic Technologist issued by the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH);2.
