Job description*** ALL SHIFTS***Position Summary: This position is responsible for the efficient and effective daily operations of on-sight medical concerns including dispensing prescribed medications, security, and inventory of accuracy of medical documentation. Must be able to discuss and or counsel clients relating to their medication regimen, assist with any client medical concern, and schedule follow up appointments with the doctor. Responsible for necessary tests in conjuncture with state and federal and assist with medical care required during their treatment as directed by the Medical Director.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties as assigned.:Ensure accuracy of client's medication intakeReport all instances when medication is not taken as prescribed via critical incidence.Maintains high level of physical security in nursing office at all time (door locked and cabinets closed and locked)Evaluates potential client safety issues in regards to intoxication by assessment of clients who present with signs and symptoms of intoxication and or withdrawal. Reports results of assessment to primary counselor and the Medical Director when a patient is believed to need a higher level of care.Answer client's questions relating to pharmacology issues in confidential and informative manner.Ensure compliance of staff and client TB testing. Follow up annually with staff to ensure proper documentation is in employee files.Maintains proper inventory and supplies requests to adequately and professionally meet client needs.Attends staff meetings for the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment improvement of clients.Continuous quality improvement (conduct in-service & client education). Permanent position on Quality Assurance Committee.Permanent position on the Treatment Team for the review and approval of the Individual Treatment Plan.Accurately documents client intake and vital information. Ensures electronic signatures on documented information.Document results of drug screens and facilitate those which will need to be confirmed by Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrophotometry (GCMS) or similar test with lab.Keep medical equipment clean and sanitized.Maintain cleanliness and organization of the nurse's office. Insure proper storage of all medicate waste. Insure medical waste procedures, including disposal of sharps, are in use.Ensures smooth workflow and patient satisfaction.Answering facility phone calls and coordinating care.Minimum Qualifications: Requires a licensed nurse (RN or LPN) registered in the state of Kansas and graduated from an accredited school of nursing with at least one-year experience as a RNLPN. Experience in the field of addictions is a preference but not necessary. Must demonstrate proficiency with Office computer products. Must be 18 years or older. Mist have a valid driver's license or state issued ID and provide state license.Physical:Frequent standing and sitting while dispensing and administering medications, filing, and completing paperwork.Occasional liftingcarrying paperwork, files, office supplies, up to 20 lbs.Occasional pushpull exerting up to 5-20 lbs. force, opening doors, file drawers, pushing files in drawers.Occasional kneelingcrouching and ability to reach lower file drawers, stretching to store or retrieve materials.Mental:Position requires constant mental alertness, attention to detail, and high degree of accuracy required in completing all assignments.
