Company: Gabriel & CoPosition: Assistant Finance ControllerFunctionDepartment: FinanceFocus: Cost ControlFinance OperationsWork Location: New York (On-Site)ASSISTANT FINANCE CONTROLLERKey Responsibilities: Handle day-to-day management of finance and accounting team.Generate timely and accurate monthly consolidated financial reports and fund flows.Make recommendations for cost reduction andor profit improvement.Identify activities for offshoring and assist in automating processes and implementation.Handle tax compliance, legal support, and insurance coverage..Develop GAAP compliant accounting policies, performance measures, and executive dashboard.Manage the annual budget process, cost center, product cost analysis, and activity-based costing.Review monthly inventory reports, including verification, valuation, and aging.Manage major system implementation and upgrades.Oversee accounts receivable management and provide support for credit and collections activities.Oversee accounts payable department, approve payables, and verify payments by checks, wires, and ACHs.Develop reliable cash flow projection and reporting mechanism, including minimum cash threshold.Manage working capital, projecting cash flow to ensure minimum cash threshold.Manage the preparation of annual financial statements and support all external audits.Qualifications: Must be a qualified CPA, CPA with 10-12 years of experience in finance and accounting. Experience with Big 4 and a US multinational is preferable. Global experience preferred as the position requires dealing with China, India and Thailand. Need to possess a retail background, with exposure to manufacturing, credit and collection. Experience with ERP (MS Navision) and an ERP upgrade (preferably SAP or Oracle) preferred. Experience in automation of processes will be an added advantage. Proficient in MS office including Word, PowerPoint, advanced excel skills, and pivot tables. Ideal Traits: Commands respect of the departmental managers with ability to provide solutions.Needs to be business savvy and conceptually strong.
