Job Description:

Job Summary:The Safety Supervisor performs internal planning, execution, training, and audits in support of LaGuardia Gateway Partners' (LGP) Terminal B Safety Management System (SMS), Emergency Response Plan (ERP), Accident Investigations and the Health & Safety programs. The Safety Supervisor will aid the manager in ensuring regulatory compliance and conformance to safety standards. The position will interface with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, airlines, service companies and other terminal stakeholders. Duties and Responsibilities:Assists the Safety Manager in the planning and implementation of all safety programs within the safety portfolio.Review, update and maintain plans and procedures e.g., FOD, airside vehicle operations, Terminal B Enforcement Program, etc.Performs audits, assessments or evaluations as required.Reviews past inspections, audits, and compliance records to identify, track, and solve safety and quality concerns.Accurately identify root-causes to aid the stakeholder in the corrective action process.Assists operating units with continuous improvement through the application of safety and quality management principles.Performs Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments (HIRAs) on safety incidents and concerns to mitigate or eliminate risk.Aids in the creation of leadership reports, dashboards, emails, or other communications with minimal editing by leadershipPresents the safety information and data to stakeholders as necessary.Effectively and efficiently communicate challenges to project deadlines and proactively recommend possible municates company policies, procedures, and regulations, facilitating fair resolutions and imparting expertise to all stakeholders.Assists the Safety Manager in coordinating inspections conducted by regulatory agencies.Participates in budget preparation, development of long and short-range forecasts, major work programs.Additional duties as assigned by the Safety Manager or other designee.Perform all other duties as petencies and Skills:Solid business acumenLeadership skillsAbility to influence.Excellence in communications; both written and oralProven relationship building and relationship management skills with internal and external stakeholders.Self-motivated and able to motivate staff at all levels.Strong initiative - recognizes emerging issues, proactively works to resolve identified risk and concerns.Strong computer skillsStrong analytical skillsProject management skillsPresentation skillsAbility to obtain and maintain SIDA clearance.Education and Qualifications:5 years in operational decision-making, preferably in an aviation or airport settingExperience working effectively in a regulated environment.High school graduation: relevant university or college degree preferred.SMS KnowledgeAccident and Incident Investigations KnowledgeAuditing Evaluating KnowledgeEmergency Management and Incident Command Systems experience a plusEHS Management Systems experience a plusPrimary Work Location: LaGuardia Airport, NY (Onsite) Employee Status: Regular Full Time Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action:LaGuardia Gateway Partners provides equal employment opportunity without regard to race, color, age, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, veteran status, or other protected characteristics.
