Postdoctoral positions are available at the Stelzer Lab in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine focused on preclinical development of cardiac sarcomere targets for treatment of heart failure. We are seeking talented and highly motivated individuals with expertise in cardiac physiology, protein biochemistry and biophysics, bioengineering, mitochondrial biology, metabolism, and gene therapy. These positions are funded by the NIH and industry. Our laboratory investigates molecular and in vivo contractile defects in inherited and acquired heart disease. We use a broad array of techniques in cardiac muscle biology and metabolism to identify novel therapeutic targets. These training opportunities are ideal for candidates interested in a career in academia or industry.
