You will play a leading role in the design, validation, and production of Generac's clean energy products, with an emphasis on innovation, manufacturability, quality, reliability, and cost.Technical ResponsibilitiesAs a Mechanical Design Engineer your responsibilities will include:Developing mechanical components and assemblies for next gen BESSDesigning, prototyping, testing & validating products into production sustainingCollaborating with the design studio, hw engr, mfg engr, quality, operationsDelivering solutions optimized for form, function, quality, cost, and experienceEnsuring solutions are manufacturable, serviceable, and compliantSharing knowledge and contributing to processes developmentSolving electro-mechanical integration challengesRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with strong fundamentalsAt least one prior Mechanical Engineering internshipBasic knowledge of common engineering materials and primary usesBasic knowledge of design for manufacturability, and design for assemblyProficiency in 3D CAD (Solidworks preferred, others accepted)Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fieldExperience in rapid prototyping (3D printing, quick-turn mockups)Experience with structural FEA and ability to perform simulationsExcellent written and verbal communication skills
