Mid-Career Mechanical Engineer About the job We are looking for a mechanical engineer with 7+ years of experience to join our growing team! We design, build, and deploy clean-sheet automation and manufacturing solutions for technologies of the future including electric aircraft, commercial spacecraft, batteries, satellites, and clean energy. The projects we take on are challenging, rewarding, and often involve solving problems in ways that have never been done before. If you enjoy being able to work on new engineering challenges every few months, Perellion would be a great place for you to work.  This Mechanical Engineering position at Perellion will be expected to perform a wide range of tasks across the entire life cycle of a project. You would be responsible for managing each step of this process from cradle to grave, while working both independently and leading and working collaboratively among a team of electrical and controls engineers. Your responsibilities would include designing, budgeting, ordering, and supporting hands-on work when necessary. As a mid-career engineer, you would be expected to take on leadership responsibilities as needed, such as leading a team or being the lead designer for a project. We're a relatively new company and you'd be a part of building out the culture and tools to help us succeed long term.  Requirements: BSME or MSME with 7+ years of experience  Enjoyable person to be around. Our team is made up of great people with positive attitudes, we like to work with each other, and maintaining this culture is a very high priority. Strong communication skills, able to work with customers to define project scope and manage change orders. This is as important as engineering capabilities. Experience with managing a team of engineers to deliver automation and tooling to customer specifications. Self-directed and able to work independently in an environment that emphasizes individual ownership and responsibility. Strong parametric CAD skills (Solidworks, NX, CATIA, etc.) Able to perform strenuous tasks such as lifting and moving up to 40 lbs repeatedly each day. Willingness to get your hands dirty using tools and operating heavy equipment when needed. Bonus points: Professional experience designing and building automated systems: robotics, PLC programming, microcontrollers, etc. About us: Perellion is an employee-owned, engineer-run business that focuses on solving tough engineering challenges.
