SUMMARYThe Director of Transportation and Logistics holds the pivotal role of leading the transportation and logistics functions. The primary function is to ensure the seamless flow of goods, effectively control transportation functions, elevate the overall customer experience, and enhance operational performance.RESPONSIBILITIESPlanning: Develop and implement transportation and logistics strategies aligned with the company objectives.Management: Manage relationships with transportation and logistics service providers, negotiate contracts, and ensure high-quality service.Optimization: Optimize transportation routes and methods to minimize transit pliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations, including DOT, safety standards, importexport regulations, and transportation laws.Metrics: Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of transportation and logistics operations.Improvement: Identify process improvements and implement best practices to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of transportation and logistics processes.Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks in transportation and logistics, including disruptions and delays.Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to the transportation and logistics team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.Utilization: Implement and leverage transportation management systems (TMS) and other technology solutions to streamline operations, enhance visibility, and improve decision-making.Service: Ensure that transportation and logistics operations meet or exceed customer expectations for timely and accurate deliveries.Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders, including executives, department heads, and teams, to ensure alignment with organizational goals.Analysis: Analyze transportation and logistics data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.Auditing: Conduct regular audits to ensure that transportation and logistics processes comply with company policies and industry standards.QUALIFICATIONSdegree in business administration, logistics, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).years of proven experience in transportation management, with experience in a leadership role.knowledge of distribution networks, transportation regulations, industry trends, and best transportation management software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.with Microsoft Office including an intermediate level of Excel expertise.with Intermodal Exports-Air and OceanIATA, IMDG Certified.
