You'd be responsible for the business development, market growth, project delivery, staff engagement and financial performance for the Midwest District with a focus on growing the Local, State & Federal Transportation Business including Rail, Highway, Roadway, Municipal opportunities. As a proven Executive Leader with a high profile within the Transportation & Infrastructure (T&I) Engineering, Planning & CM Services market, you'll be the 'face' of this group, motivating and driving industry best performance in Engineering Design & CMPM Services throughout Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Missouri and Indiana.As a critical part of the Operating Group President's Leadership team, you will lead a team of talented Area Managers in guiding them in project management, technical, business development, and administration. The key to your success will be the ability to motivate, collaborate and share market knowledge, resources and strategies to achieve both local and wider market share in other divisions such as the Water & Vertical Buildings Group.To be successful in this District Manager role, you will need:15+ years' experience in Professional Engineering, Planning, CMPM Consultancies in the Transportation Industry (Rail, Transit, Roads, Bridge & Tunnels) essential.Held VP Division Regional executive level roles focused on growth in Business Development, Operations Management, Project or Engineering Management.Proven commercial & financial management skills with profit & loss reporting for your groups performance to CEO Board Level.Professional Registration or Certification in your field strongly preferred.You will be a known figurehead in the AEC market with project success with public and federal transportation agencies such as IDOT, Illinois Tollway, CTA, City of Chicago, Airport Authority etc.Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor your team and foster a collaborative and positive work environment.Strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess the market trends, identify opportunities, and implement plans to achieve the firm's strategic and annual goals.A high level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability, with a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.As the District Manager, you will:Represent the firm with clients, the industry, and the broader community across the area and maintain close professional relationships with key stakeholders.You'll be a regular leader in attendance at ASHE, ACEC, WTS, AGC and similar board & industry associations.Work with the firm's client service team leaders to ensure robust relationships with our clients and provide them with innovative and cost-effective solutions for their transportation needs.Create and implement plans that align with and achieve the firm's strategic plan objectives, including targets and objectives for client relations, growth, project performance, efficiency, and talent development.Identify, recruit, and develop talent with the aim of growing the business and ensuring a strong line of succession for key leadership roles in the operation.Providing effective management of local business activities, including selecting the client mix and services offering, adding new clients, winning new work, executing projects, hiring locally based personnel, resource planning, and controlling overhead expenditure.Ensure the operation adheres to the firm's policies and procedures and complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards.Identify, mentor, and train the next generation of future leaders and foster a culture of learning and innovation.Analyze and report on business performance and implement timely measures to address any issues and ensure financial goals are met.An executive C-suite leadership compensation package is negotiable starting at $300,000+ with superb benefits package including Healthcare (PPO, HSA, HMO, Dental, Vision, FSA), Life and AD&D, STD, LTD; executive level bonus incentives; Commuter Benefits; 401K Plan with 4% match; PTO & Holidays and all the professional development and memberships you need for your success.Working side by side with an exceptionally renowned and high performing CEO nurturing your career and performance and a leadership team of peers who are working towards a shared goal.
