SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated Substance Use Specialist to work with our Intensive Mobile Treatment (IMT) Team in Manhattan, providing crucial support services to individuals with complex needs.Location:Manhattan (may involve treating clients outside Manhattan if they relocate)Schedule:Monday-Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pmResponsibilitiesHarm Reduction Services:Plan and lead Co-Occurring Disorder (CoD) support group activitiesAttend relevant training programs on Harm Reduction servicesResearch and serve as a liaison for Harm Reduction programsProvide consultation on Harm Reduction services to the IMT teamCase Management Services:Manage a caseload of IMT clientsConduct client assessments and develop treatment goalsAssist clients with accessing entitlement programs, psychiatric services, and rehabilitationMake referrals to community health servicesAccompany clients to appointments as necessaryMaintain accurate client case records and communicate regularly with familiesVisit clients in various locations including residential facilities, hospitals, and on the streetParticipation as IMT Team Member:Attend staff meetings, case conferences, and training programsParticipate in supervision meetings to review client progressCollaborate with IMT team staff in a team-based case management modelQualificationsMaster's degree in social work or related field with experience in substance use treatment; or Bachelor's degree and CASACExperience working with clients with substance abuse and co-occurring issuesStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to speak Spanish is a plus
