OverviewFacility Diagnostics, LLC (FD) is a leading provider of Building Commissioning services, Engineering Project Management, Healthcare facility compliance, Sustainability Program Management, and MEP facility condition assessments based in Nashville, TN. FD has partnered with building developers, owners, and contractors to help ensure that their buildings remain compliant, reliable, energy efficient, and sustainable since 2005. FD is seeking an experienced Energy Engineer or Commissioning Project Manager to join our expanding team in Nashville, TN. This position is ideally suited for self-motivated problem solvers who enjoy a blended balance of your own home office and the construction environment in a variety of markets with travel potential. Experience with ASHRAE Level II Energy Audits is highly desired. Job Description Responsibilities· Execute ASHRAE Level I or II Energy Audits for existing buildings, specifically Hospitals and Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC).· The commissioning project manager (Cx PM) will be responsible for the management and execution of building commissioning services in various commercial construction markets. The Cx PM may also work on Property Condition Assessments.· The Cx PM will monitor the project budget, manage task execution, maintain client relationships, and mentor and train junior level commissioning staff. · Assist with the day-to-day management of Commissioning Techs - schedule work, communicate schedule information to the project team, monitor manpower requirements, provide support as needed. · The Cx PM will support the Cx Manager and Partners to plan and schedule project work to maintain maximum utilization of staff. · Work closely with project managers, contractors, and other team members to ensure that commissioning activities align with project timelines and objectives.· In addition to project management responsibilities the PM will:o Perform commissioning focused design reviews, submittal reviews, and execute construction site inspections.o Direct functional performance testing of commercial HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing systems to ensure the systems meet design specifications and performance standards.o Lead Commissioning Meetings o Develop and review checklists, reports, and other deliverables written by Junior level Cx staff members.· Assist in identifying and troubleshooting issues or inefficiencies in MEP systems and equipment. Collaborate with the team to develop solutions.· Marketing for Cx and energy related services· The Commissioning Project Manager will travel 20-40% Minimum Education, Experience, and Qualifications:· Bachelor's Degree in a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Construction Management field. ABET accredited university is preferred.· 2+ years of Building Commissioning Experience or experience with the construction andor maintenance of commercial HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems. · 1-2 years of project management experience· Hands-on knowledge of MEP equipment including pumps, fans, motors, air ventilation, chillers, boilers, steam distribution, building automation systems, optimization techniques, electrical distribution, and fire alarm systems.· Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word and Excel).· Familiarity with construction project management software such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, E-Builder, etc.· Knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and bid process.· High level of attention to detail with ability to quality-review work.· Ability to collaborate effectively, manage time, communicate with clarity, and navigate complex interpersonal dynamics.· Ability to write technical reports.· Public speaking and presentation skills.· Precise and efficient communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively report findings to owners and contractors, communicate to managers, and work within a team.· Strong facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.· Knowledge of construction site safety protocols and the ability to prioritize safety in commissioning activities.· Capable of carrying up to 20 pounds and ability to climb a ladder. · Candidate must have access to a personal vehicle for travel to job sites around the greater Nashville area.· Completion ofor ability to obtain OSHA 8-hour Safety Training Course is required.Preferred Qualifications:· Commissioning Credential (CCP, BCxA, etc.)· Energy Management Credential (EMP, CEM, etc.)· LEED AP or Green Associate Credential· Professional Engineering (PE) License or extensive equivalent experience· Demonstrated experience in central utility plants, healthcare facilities, laboratories, controls, building envelope, TAB, NETA electrical testing, renewable energy and other specialties a plus.Benefits:· Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance· Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) policy· Simple IRA with company match policy· Opportunities for professional training and certificationEOE MDVF
