The System Administrator I: Maintains information systems and related hardware and softwareMonitors information system availability, integrity, and performanceEnsures that information system operation and maintenance and related policies and procedures adhere to the organization's technological visionProvides effective and efficient Tier 3 support to end users with varying technical skill levelsReports to the IT DirectorFunctions:System Administrator I functions can be grouped as follows:Operations and maintenanceMonitor WAN, LAN, and WLAN connection quality and resolve connectivity issuesMonitor service health and related issue resolution processesMonitor cellular data usage and pre-emptively identify data overagesManage and maintain identity management platformsAudit equipment inventory periodicallyAudit process documentation and update as neededPerform data andor configuration backup operationsPerform hardware firmware upgradesPerform operating system and other software upgradesAssist with recovery from hardware or software failuresAssist with security incident review and resolutionSupport: Work with helpdesk to identify systemic issuesResolve or escalate systemic issues; identify areas for improvementCommunicate with internal users and external resources during issue resolutionProvide Tier 3 end-user support as requiredKnowledge and skills:Shift Digital is willing to train the right candidate to continually expand and enhance his or her skill set. The minimum requirements for a System Administrator I are: Education:Bachelor's degree with a technical major or equivalent, proven experienceOne year of system administration experience or three years of helpdesk experienceSystems experience:Proficiency with Microsoft operating systems for clients and serversProficiency with Microsoft 365 administration and applicationsFamiliarity with network protocols and configuration best practicesFamiliarity with Cisco Meraki or equivalent network hardware administrationFamiliarity with Ring Central or equivalent VOIP system administrationFamiliarity with Salesforce or equivalent CRM administrationProblem solving and decision making:Strong ability to troubleshoot, isolate, and resolve errors and issuesAbility to analyze data and determine best path to issue resolutionAbility to make data-based decisions and act decisively under pressureAbility to prioritize tasks and manage time effectivelyCommunication:Strong ability to interpret technical information and discuss it clearly and effectivelyExcellent attention to detail in written communicationRequirementsIn general, the System Administrator I will work regular business hours in a casual office environment.
