Position Title: Tactical Networks (TACNET) Subject Matter Expert (SME)Location: New Orleans, LAPosition Type: Full-timeSalary Range: $75,000 - $80,000Security Clearance Requirement: Position requires active security clearanceCertification Requirements:CompTIA Security+Years of Experience: 3 - 5 yearsRoles and Responsibilities:This role supports the Tactical Networks (TACNET) capability at the Marine Corps Tactical System Support Activity (MCTSSA) at Camp Pendleton supporting the Fleet Marine Forces (FMF) worldwide. The TACNET role provides remote and onsite guidance to assist the FMF to create, manage, troubleshoot, and maintain large and small-scale tactical networks. The TACNET role will utilize COTS, GOTS, and Program of Record (POR) hardware and software such as the Combat Operations Center (COC), Combat Data Network (CDN), and Common Hosting Environment (CHE) to create, manage, troubleshoot, and maintain large and small-scale tactical networks. These support efforts are provided to military units while deployed, in garrison, in preparation for, and while participating in major exercises and contingency operations.COC, CDN, and CHE setup, configuration, and troubleshooting guidanceInterface with FMF personnel and US Government employees to provide breakfix support to USMC tactical networks in a fast-paced, high-energy environmentResearch questions using available information resources: technical manual, operating and administrator guides, fleet advisory messages (FAMs), and internal approved knowledge base(s)Identify and elevate situations requiring urgent attentionSet-up, configuration, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance for the CDN, CHE, and legacy Combat Operation Center (COC) Variants (III, and IV)Integrating data-sharing network with storage, virtualization capabilities, and C4I systems supportTactical networking support to configure virtual local area networks (VLANs), Virtual Trunking Protocol (VTP), port channels, router-on-a-stick, layer 3 switches, Point-to-Point (PTP) links, Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), route filters, GRE and MGRE tunnels, Internet Protocol Security (IPSec), Virtual Routing and Forwarding (VRF), Black CoreColorless routing, multicast, access lists, and TACLANEsEducation:Certification listed above accepted in lieu of higher education: AndExperience equal to degree levelPreferred Skills:Self starter, with great initiativeTeam player and an effective communicator of highly technical informationFamiliar with ANW2 and MUOS networksIntegrating classified networks into network architecture through the use of TACLANEsMicrosoft domain replication, domain trusts, Active Directory, Exchange, SQL, Windows Deployment Service (WDS), SharePoint, Windows Firewalls, LDAP, SCCMMECM, Bluecoat Proxy Server, PKI, and FSMO RolesCisco routing and switching, Unity Connection (CUC), IM & Presence Service (CIMP), CUCM, UCS-E, VMWARE ESXi, VCSA, VSAN, virtual switching, vMotion, EVC, HA, DRS, and VM templates.
