Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer with substantial operations, manufacturing and organizational improvement expertise for a middle market, private equity-backed manufacturing organization headquartered in Chattanooga, TN. The CFO will report to the newly-hired CEO and will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial-related activities of the Company. This includes all accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic accounting, revenue recognition, inventory management planning, job costing, compliance, and institutional financing for a heavy manufacturing environment. ResponsibilitiesWork with the CEO and the Company's Board of Directors to develop multi-year strategic growth and value enhancement plan for the Company, which would include tools to: (i) develop and evaluate business plansROI structure and methodology, (ii) monitor and track performance to targeted ROI objectives and (iii) support development of mitigation planscountermeasures if ROI objectives are not being metLead the development of processes and controls to provide timely and accurate sales projections, income statements, cash flow, capital expenditure reports, contribution margin analysis and demand planningWork with the Chief Operating Officer to support plant-level financial analyses including but not limited to scrap, productivity, standard costing, variance analyses and program and product profitability analysesCo-lead an ERP implementation as part of the final ERP selection process QualificationsPrior CFO, VP of Finance, Controller or equivalent senior leadership role within manufacturing organizations, preferably project-based or similar manufacturing environments for companies of similar size and complexityDemonstrated standard cost accounting experience, preferably in a materials conversion plant or similar environmentERP system implementation experience is highly desirableStrong interpersonal skills, ability to build and lead teams, communicate, and manage well at all levels of the organization Demonstrated experience professionalizing antiquated or poorly-managed finance platformsStrong finance-based analytical skillsCPA or MBA preferred but not requiredMust reside in or near Chattanooga, TN with reimbursement available for relocation
