The Claims Manager is responsible for the oversight, investigation, and appropriate resolution of claims focusing on casualty exposures. Supervises unit activity and ensures satisfactory delivery of claims servicesproducts consistent with departmental expectations and standards. Must be knowledgeable, dependable, and able to lead a team in achieving goals and objectives while adhering to compliance regulations and company best practices. Principle Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions**):•Responsible for administrative, coaching and training functions of claim unit.•Responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards and provides technical guidance as needed.•Responsible for specific goals and objectives consistent with departmental expectations.•Oversee and manage daily claims activities, approve payments, and review coverage analyses to resolve claims.•Perform monthly reviews to ensure compliance with "Best Practices". Provide coaching and feedback to team members.•Participate in semi-annual department audits and annual compliance audits.•Review performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement. Determine areas of needed improvement and take appropriate action to achieve positive results which enhancing performance at all levels.•Evaluate staffing requirements, and interview, hire, onboard and train new employees.•Resolve customer and agency complaints and answer questions regarding policies and procedures.•Provide employees with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems or in resolving escalated complaints or disputes.•Implement corporate or departmental policies, procedures, and service standards in conjunction with company objectives.•Provide an environment that supports positive employee engagement; celebrate success and encourage a team environment.•Provide support and opportunities for self-development of team members.•Address job performance concerns with employees.
