DO YOU WANT TO BE CREATIVE IN ENGINEERING?DO YOU ENJOY PROVIDING SOLUTIONS TO CUSTOMERS?Then this is the job for you!We are looking for an individual not only excited about applying their existing mechanical engineering skills to design and create innovative, custom automation solutions for our customer's needs but also to serve in a leadership capacity to help drive success in Applications Engineering.What do Applications Engineers do at Wes-Tech?With your multidisciplinary engineering background (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, andor Controls), you will be responsible for designing challenging, large-scale, and complex automated solutions that create customer efficiencies. You will have light leadership responsibilities as a go-to for the rest of the team. As an integral member supporting our development team, you will be a trusted partner to our customers.What will you be responsible for?Design a complete solution and present that solution to the customersResearch and review incoming information and materials; apply new technologies and applications to potential solutionsPerform project release to Operations; an follow progress of project through Operations and installation; and evaluate performance of system once goes into productionCreate supporting documents (Quotes, budgets, layouts) that fully describe and define the solution for both external and internal customersEngage with customers to discuss new projectsAct as a SME and go to for others in the departmentLead the team in the absence of the DirectorTravel to customer sites for meetings and installations must be able to travel locally, overnight, weekend, or internationallySuccess Factors for the Position:Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in mechatronics, mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering, or manufacturing technologyFive (5) years of experience in the designbuildservice of custom manufacturing machines or factory automation with working knowledge of machine control systems Prior work experience with an automation systems integrator is highly preferredGeneral drafting and CAD skills and experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks are requiredTechnical writing skills and experience requiredExperience in application engineeringcost estimating within the custom automation field requiredAbility to act as a leader and provide guidance to others in the departmentExcellent communication skills - exceptional listeningpresentationwriting skillsStrong project management skillsMust be able to travel locally, overnight, weekend, or internationallyWhat's it like to work at Wes-Tech?We are innovators who function in a team environment and are committed to professional growth.
