Job Description:

Connell Foley LLP is seeking a Litigation Paralegal with at least three (3) years of experience to assist our New York team. Option to work out of either New York or Roseland location based off personal preference. Qualified candidates should demonstrate knowledge in complex civil litigation matters, including but not limited to: labor law, construction litigation, product liability and tort law, general negligence, commercial litigation, and insurance defense.Essential Job FunctionsConduct research aimed at finding out preceding cases relevant to a case, relevant statutes, court decisions, legal articles and other writings. Organize documents and coordinate document productions. Conduct the bates-stamping, redaction, duplication and indexing of documents. Set up and maintain files which are organized chronologically, numerically andor by subject matter. Under the guidance of an attorney, categorize documents by subject matter, prepare a chronology of facts and create production charts.Prepare for trials. Organize exhibits, prepare trial binders, pre-trial information, coordinate trial set-up and logistics. Organize interview memos, digests, discovery requests, privilege logs and other relevant documents for attorney review. Work on electronic productions; knowledge of ECFPacer.Court filings. Work with attorneys in the preparation and filing of all court documents. Track litigation calendar. Create, bind and distribute both file and courtesy copies. Organize the briefs, exhibits and appendices.Motion practice. Pull relevant documents, proofread papers, organize exhibits and create document indices in the preparation of motion filing.Attends to communication through telephone, e mail and correspondence with courts, insurance carriers and counsel and scheduling of appearances and depositions, transcripts, deposition line summaries, routing inquiries to the appropriate party, responding to such communications, reserving conference rooms, court reporters and scheduling messengers.Attends to the executions of documents, including agreements, wills, real estate closings, and maintains calendar of depositions and court appearance dates.Prepares legal documents such as pleadings, appeals, contracts, buy-sell agreements, closing papers and binders, deeds, and trust instruments for review and approval by attorneys.Files correspondence and legal documents in office filing system.Such other reasonably related duties and assignments as may be assigned or otherwise necessary.RequirementsBachelor's degree (B. A.) related to law or business from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience andor training i.e. Paralegal Certificate; or equivalent combination of education and experiences.
