Job Description:

Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Table Funding Mortgage Underwriter to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience within the mortgagesecondary markets, with at least 3-4 years specifically focused on underwriting similar loans. Experience in underwriting construction elements such as rehab and ground-up construction is a plus. The client manages all aspects of its investment portfolio using its dedicated internal team, including loan sourcing, pricing, underwriting, acquisition, and asset management. The client is also expanding its national footprint and is launching its second US location in Tampa, FL. Location: Tampa, FL (Hybrid - subject to change)Job Responsibilities:Underwrite loans following guidelines. Responsibilities will include: Reviewing and reconciling loan applications to ensure the loan meets various program requirements.Analysis of loan application, credit profilereport(s), debt and assets, incomefinancial statements, leverage ratios, appraisal reports, renovation budgets, borrower experience, collateral, and supporting documentationManage an ongoing pipeline of loans through the companies' loan-buying processReport on the status of loans within the pipeline regularlyPresent loans to the Credit Committee for exceptions and approvalsCondition files for missingsupporting documentation according to the secondary market and clients' guidelinesOrder and perform the preliminary review of all third-party reports (i.e. appraisal, appraisal reviews, background reports, inspections, and environmental reports)Collect, analyze, and approve all required due diligencePerform property and market assessments to evaluate property conditions and marketsubmarket dynamicsCommunicate and document reasons for approval or rejection of loans so clients and loan officers are well-informed of decisionsCommunicate with originators, counterparties, and vendors effectively and professionallyMentor and train junior staff as neededJob Requirements:Bachelor's degree highly preferred; Associates requiredMinimum 5 years of mortgagesecondary markets experienceAt least 3-4 years Underwriting business purpose residential loansEffective pipeline management skillsMust be willing to work hybrid in the office - subject to changeProven track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentExceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel and WordMust be authorized to work in the USSalary: $70-75K + up to 15% annual bonus split between cashequityWSP specializes in filling your company's contract, contract-to-hire, direct hire, contingency, and executive positions with professional candidates.
