You'll work side by side with professional investors, entrepreneurs, scientists and clinicians to help us support companies bringing leading innovations to market that will meaningfully improve the lives of patients around the globe.The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial analysis with experience evaluating healthcare companies and a robust network of biotech and healthcare VCs and early-stage companies. Experience working in credit andor operational experience at early stage biotech & healthcare companies are pluses, but not required. As a vital member of our credit analysis team, you will be responsible for evaluating the creditworthiness of potential borrowers within the life science and healthcare sectors, providing insights into investment opportunities, and assisting in decision-making processes to optimize risk-adjusted returns.The analyst will join a team of investment professionals with a blend of financial, scientific, and healthcare industry expertise. The role will focus primarily on supporting the structured credit portfolio managers through financial, commercial, and technical analysis of structured credit investments in early and growth stage life science and other healthcare companies. The analyst will have ample opportunity to work with and contribute to investments across strategies and to contribute meaningfully to idea generation and investment decisions.Responsibilities:Build flexible financial models including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow analysis to assess creditworthiness and financial returns across a variety of scenariosLead diligence effort across commercial, financial, and scientific due diligence, including engagement with key opinion leaders and other market participantsTrack industry trends and prepare market landscapes across healthcare and life science verticals sector to identify areas of interestSource new opportunities via proactive outreachSupport portfolio managers in developing structured credit investment proposalsSynthesize financial analysis and due diligence into investment committee memos; present investment thesis and diligence conclusions to investment committeeCollaborate with Catalio team members across the research & investment teams, including scientific analysts, and dedicated public and private equity teamsTrack new and existing portfolio companies, including by interfacing with company management and attending company board meetingsRequirements:BABS required; coursework in finance andor biological sciences or related field preferred2-4+ years of buy or sell side experience covering healthcare companies, including biotechpharma or healthcare investment banking experienceExperience analyzing innovative life sciences and healthcare companiesStrong financial modeling experienceExcellent verbal and written communication skillsThis position is full-time, in-person in New York City.Catalio Capital Management is an equal employment opportunities (EEO) employer, and encourages applicants with diverse backgrounds, including race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability and genetics.
