Job Description:

The Financial Analyst is responsible for monitoring the overall financial performance of business units within the division, including revenue and costs-to-date, forecasted costs, anticipated project gross profit as well as general and administrative expenses, as compared to the division's budget. This position has the overall responsibility for reviewing actual and projected financial results and communicating with management regarding those results.Financial ReportingPerforms analysis on past, projected and comparative operating results and assists in developing forecast models.Provides timely and accurate analysis of actual results in comparison with budgets.Identifies trends and recommends actions to divisional management based on sound analysis.Monitors accounts receivable and ensures managers are focused on timely collection.Monitors accounts payable and ensures managers are focused on timely approvals.OperationsMonitor key performance indicators (KPIs), monthly and annual revenue and gross profit burn projections, operational priorities, policy matters, risk levels and sources, savings opportunities, and Present Estimate (or equivalent) job reporting.Performs financial project reviews as requested to validate anticipated gross profit derived from expected contract values and forecasted cost and report on project profitability to management. This review includes analysis of costs and commitments for equipment, subcontracts, materials, and other direct job costs to ensure project management is maintaining a reasonable forecast and understanding of expected cost savings or overage throughout each project.Assists divisional leadership with the development of annual business unit budgets as well as monthly monitoring against budgets.Act in a financial partner role for assigned projects, evaluating results and monitoring at a micro-level the job performance, critical financial processes, project team performance, risk, and accountability.Collaborate and assist in the improvement of administrative and operational services in order to eliminate silos and work cross-departmentally with the goal of overall process improvement and improved financial results.Team DevelopmentLeadershipContinues personal development by obtaining knowledge in lessons learned and using various available technology and industry strategies to suggest process improvements and drive profitability.Ensures project management and project administrative personnel are adequately trained to utilize financial forecasting tools and software and adhere to policies related to procurement and financial management of projects.This position is Full Time, Exempt, and reports to the Director of Operational Finance.Required Education, Experience, and QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related areas.Minimum 5 years' experienceExperience with GAAP including construction accounting principles, particularly ASC 606Experience with accounting and budgeting tools.Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).Strong problem-solving ability and technological skills desired including the ability to understand complex financial models.Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and technology skillsEffective verbal and written communication skills.Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.Experience with PowerBI or similar dashboard reporting tools.Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications Experience working for one of the Big 4 accounting firms andor construction industry experience.CPA, CMA, CFMA or MBA.Experience with Procore Construction Software.Travel Requirements 0-20% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)office location.PhysicalWork Environment RequirementsProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Climbing stairs.Remaining in a stationary position, often kneeling, standing or sitting for prolonged periods.Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands andor fingers.Quiet environment.Light work that includes adjusting andor moving objects up to 20 pounds.
