The role is based in our Miami office, with potential hybrid work flexibility.The analyst will independently conduct due diligence on healthcare companies and proactively generate bottom-up investment ideas, primarily in public equity investments and selectively in private early-stage investments. The analyst will work closely and collaboratively with the CIO (who is an MDMBA by background) and our close-knit team of seasoned professionals.The analyst will focus on therapeutics subsectors (biotech and pharmaceuticals), across market capitalizations and development stages.Key responsibilitiesConduct in-depth due diligence and primary research on new and active healthcare investmentsMake highly informed investment recommendations on companies, scientific advances, and industry trendsAnalyze and interpret a wide range of information (including clinical and preclinical data, scientific literature, and diverse expert views) to form independent viewpointsBuild and maintain financial modelsInitiate and maintain relationships with senior company management and industry expertsAttend industry and scientific conferences Conduct KOL and physician checksAuthor investment memos and present investment conclusionsQualificationsStrong academic credentials and demonstrated successful work experienceStrong scientific background, with an MD or PhD degree highly preferred3+ years of experience in buy-side sell-side equity research, healthcare industry, investment banking, consulting, venture capital andor private equityDemonstrated financial modeling and valuation skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to quickly grasp and articulate both the big picture and the nuances of a wide range of possible investment opportunitiesStrong interpersonal skills. Ability to operate well both independently and as part of a team.
