AKCG - Public Relations Counselors is searching for a Business Development Director who will work with the leadership team to network, position and market AKCG - Public Relations Counselors to drive growth within the company's key verticals.AKCG is a national public relations consultancy based in Southern New Jersey. The firm builds, preserves and restores its clients' positive reputations. Responsibilities include:New Business LeadershipSteward the new business process - from prospecting, to pitching and proposal writing and submission.Ensure alignment between firm capabilities and prospective clients.Project manage mid-large size proposals and pitches, defining timing, coordinating with leads to assign team, and ensuring rolesresponsibilities are clear.Liaise with PR and Crisis Communications Practice Leaders to determine fit and potential of new prospects, as well as opportunities for growth among existing clients.Work with the firm's marketing team to develop written content for agency collateral, RFPs, award entries, case studies, and capabilities presentations.Ensure team delivers high quality work on strategy, and on time.Exhibit with account teams at conferences, where appropriate. Support practice leaders and account team members by coaching, identifying areas for growth, celebrating successes, managing promotion process, and identifying training opportunities.Plan & ProspectWork with VP to create and execute marketing and prospecting strategy for agency, helping to develop outreach materials and contact planning.Develop and maintain a database of prospects within the firm's key verticals. Conducts in-depth research on new business leads and prospects, past marketing campaigns and corporate announcements, and find useful insights for pitching new business.Qualifications 8+ years experience in a PR agency setting2+ years experience participating in or facilitating the new business processExperience in education or aging services preferredBottom-line orientation - ability to tie business development efforts to firm growthUnderstanding of small, emerging agency environments strongly preferredStrong communication, leadership, people-management and client-service skillsWillingness to work within the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) Ability to work from the firm's Glassboro, N.J. office a minimum of two-three days per weekAbility to travel, as neededSalary commensurate with experience beginning at $70,000 per year. Please send resume, cover letter and salary requirement to .
