Established in October 2021 as a mission-drivennonprofit, BasBlue creates pathways and collaborates with local organizations on initiatives thatlead to change in the community, while serving as a welcoming space for more than 700 diversemembers.Job Overview:We are seeking a full time Operations Manager to bring the BasBlue community to life andprovide exceptional customer service to members and guests. The ideal candidate will beextremely detail-oriented and a personable multitasker who is comfortable working in afast-paced environment. They will bring resourcefulness, organization, and stellar communication skills to the space, and will be counted on to serve as the face of the BasBlue Community.Key Responsibilities -OPERATIONSâ— Act as an ambassador - greeting, getting to know and understand members, and offeringfriendly service to all guests and colleaguesâ— Responds to all inquiries, requests and issues in a timely, friendly and efficient manner;partnering with the necessary departments to resolve concerns.â— Manage inventory and place orders for standard office equipment and supplies, such asprinter, ink or toner, paper, etc., and report any malfunctions to the appropriate person.â— Manage inventory and place orders for house related paper products and supplies, suchas toilet paper, paper towels, soap, etc., and report any malfunctions to the appropriateperson.â— Manage inventory and place orders for Apothecary such as notebooks, sweatshirts,candles, etc., and report any discrepancies to the appropriate person.â— Manage print collateral inventory and place orders as needed.â— Manage receptionist team including scheduling, attendance and job performance duties.â— Answers the telephone, directs calls, and takes accurate messages (including date, timeof call, and namephone numberreason for call.) Relays messages and information to theappropriate individual and answers inquiries'.â— Manages IT (N2M and 123Net) service and help desk requests, such as, internet, phonelines, Solstice, etc. Relays messages and information to management if unresolved on adaily basis.â— Manages AV (Soundvision) service and help desk requests, such as, music, projector,screen, microphone, etc. Relays messages and information to management if unresolvedon a daily basis.â— Facilitate conference and meeting room reservations, ensuring that an accurate scheduleis maintained to avoid conflicts.â— Provides assistance when necessary to ensure clean and orderly space, free of cafédishes and garbage.â— Encourage and facilitate group or individual tours as scheduled or requested.â— Route membership inquiries, requests and feedback to Membership Manager asappropriate.â— Perform additional duties as assignedCAFEâ— Manage quarterly Chef in Residence Program V1â— Work with Cafe Supervisor on labor and food costs, with deep understanding of budgetâ— Manage all hourly Cafe employees including scheduling, attendance and job performance dutiesPRIVATE EVENTSâ— Develop good working relationships with event organizers at local companies for futuremeetings, annual dinners, functions and bookingsâ— Oversee the distribution of Banquet Event Orders to the teamâ— Assist with the creation of menu development, standards of procedures and training ofevent staff as neededâ— Evaluate and analyze all events following their delivery, including seeking customerfeedback and presenting feedbackmissedâ— Execution of events from beginning to end - after hours as neededâ— Collaborate with the Sales Manager to attract and maintain both new and current clienteleâ— Manage all event vendor orders and floor plans executionsWho You Are:â— 2-5 years of management experience in hospitality fieldâ— Excited at the opportunity to join a burgeoning non-profit dedicated to improving the livesof womenâ— A warm, welcoming, and enthusiastic self-starter with experience in sales, hospitality, oroffice administrationâ— Eager to provide members with a personalized experience by utilizing knowledge ofDetroit and proactively staying abreast of existing women's spaces, membershiporganizations, andor complementary nonprofitsâ— You have experience being a part of a team where you built something from the groundup and don't believe any task is above or beneath youâ— You love thrive in environments built on collaboration and teamwork • You are patient,resourceful and proactive, always looking for solutions before presenting problemsâ— You are acutely aware of what you don't know as much as you are sure of what you doknow; unafraid to ask questions, ready to learnâ— You understand that start-ups (even non-profit start-ups!) are not always predictable, andyou are willing and eager to be adaptableTo apply for this position, please email resume to:Tiara Tinnin: CONDITIONSCurrent business hours for BasBlue is 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday - Thursday, 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m Monday and Friday, and some weekends as needed.
