Seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant to support a fast-paced and growing Chicago Loop law firm. Candidate should have 1+ year of substantial litigation experience, a detail-oriented mindset, and the ability to thrive in a high-volume environment. This is a great opportunity for a diligent legal professional looking to work with a team of accomplished attorneys and extend their litigation expertise.Responsibilities:Actively assist throughout all stages of the litigation process, including case initiation, fact investigation, discovery, trial preparation, and post-trial work.E-file via Odyssey and Pacer.Conduct comprehensive legal research and fact-checking to aid in the solidification of case strategy and legal proceedings.Draft, proofread, and manage complex legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, and subpoenas.Effectively manage and update case files, trial calendars, and client databases, while efficiently tracking deadlines and case milestones.Foster professional relationships and regular communication with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other involved parties.Coordinate, organize, and electronically file court documents in accordance with local, state, and federal court rules.Maintain attorney calendars, schedule meetings, court appearances, and manage travel arrangements.Provide extensive administrative support including answering phones, file maintenance, and document management to ensure smooth functioning of daily activities.Qualifications:An associate degree or higher in Legal Studies or a related field.Prior experience as a Litigation Assistant or Legal Secretary, preferably in a litigation-focused role.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal research tools.Strong written and oral communication skills.Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and prehensive knowledge of state and federal court procedures and rules.Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within teams.Demonstrated commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality and professional terested candidates are encouraged to submit a resume detailing their relevant experience and interest in this litigation-focused role.
