SSuperior Skilled Trades is seeking Shipfitters for immediate hire in Tampa, FL!PAY: $28 hourHOURS:40 hoursSCHEDULE:Monday - FridaySTART DATE: ASAPDURATION:3+ MonthsREQUIRED SKILLS:Single Pass Tack WeldingBurning-OxygenPropane Burning TorchHeating-OxygenPropane Heating TorchAbility to comprehend complex structural assembly drawings, blueprints, and sketches.Ability to comprehend fractional dimensions with the use of a ruler.Ability to layoff piece parts for fabrication and assembly.Ability to assemble structural piece parts in accordance with specification.Use vibratory tools (grinders and needle guns)SHIPFITTER RESPONSIBILITIES:Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine shipfitting requirementsCut, shape, and fit metal components to form parts of ships using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipmentAssemble and tack-weld components together to prepare for final weldingAlign and fit parts according to specifications using calipers, rulers, and other measuring instrumentsInspect completed work for quality and accuracyMaintain a clean and organized work areaSHIPFITTER REQUIREMENTS:Previous experience in shipfitting or a related field is preferredProficiency in sheet metal fabrication techniquesKnowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair is a plusAbility to solder and assemble metal componentsFamiliarity with hand tools and power tools used in shipfittingStrong attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standardsAbility to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprintsPhysical stamina and ability to work in a physically demanding environmentADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be eligible to work in the United StatesMust have reliable transportation to the job siteMust be able to pass a drug screenWE ARE AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER!Hablamos Español!
