We're eager to learn more about you and explore how you could contribute to our expanding team!ROLE DESCRIPTIONWe are in search of a front-end-focused engineer with proficiency in back-end technologies, someone who thrives in an autonomous setting, takes ownership seriously, and enjoys addressing customer-facing product challenges. This position reports directly to the CTO and involves close collaboration with Product Managers and Designers to meet requirements and oversee the end-to-end design and implementation of the product.Our application manages the processing of tens of thousands of paychecks weekly, positioning us as a comprehensive solution for nationwide payroll management. Our platform simplifies onboarding for new employees, aids in tax setup, and offers a seamless workflow for employers to run payroll and manage compliance at scale.WHAT YOU MIGHT BE WORKING ONExpand our array of payroll features as white-labelled UI components to enable customers to swiftly integrate our product as external modules in their applications. Design and implement improvements to our Admin dashboards, prioritizing a clean, simple, and seamless user experience. Collaborate with the Product team to comprehend user pain points and lead the implementation of design changes and features. Create technical specifications from product requirements through collaborative discussions with other engineers, validating recommendations as needed. Implement REST APIs, update DB schemas, and operate within our NodeJSExpress backend. Ensure the product maintains a high level of quality with sufficient tests. Address enterprise readiness by optimizing for scalability, security, and performance, identifying bottlenecks. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues based on prioritization.YOU BRING5+ years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in a startup environment. Experience in React, React Query, Typescript, and building UI components. Proficiency in NodeJSExpress, MongoDB, and AWS. Comfort in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment. Experience creating quality tests using Jest or a similar framework. The ability to engage in technical conversations with strong communication skills, challenging others positively in a growth-oriented environment.
