We market a broad range of chocolate and non-chocolate products to all national major retail distribution channels. Frankford manufactures chocolate products in our Philadelphia, PA headquarters and imports other confectionery products from countries all over the world. We are looking for a Production Designer to join our growing Creative Services Team.Role DescriptionThe Production Designer provides deliverables for licensed and non-licensed product and packaging. Daily responsibilities include photography, die line manipulation, hand sample creation, preparing packaging files for production, as well as food labeling applications. A working knowledge of consumables packaging formats and materials, as well as production processes is required. Any experience with 3D printers is a plus. The successful candidate will navigate frequent schedule changes and work within tight deadlines. The ability to prioritize tasks within those deadlines is key for success in this role. Reports to the Creative Services Manager and works closely with other key personnel.Daily FunctionsCreate hand samples for sales calls, preproduction submission, and internal meetings.Submit physical samples and minor artwork updates for internal and Licensor review.Make artwork updates to packaging files and create renders.Photograph and stage product for all LOB's & Seasonal sets.Prepare and route files to vendors for prepress, samples and production.Update assigned projects and tasks with daily progress notes within the Asana system.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate with Sales, Marketing, PD teams to fill requests.Maintain image libraries (Photography, Cleanup, Labeling & Filing).Interpret and follow style guides to execute and update layouts.Execute assignments with attention to detail and learn to anticipates next steps.Proof own work for Licensor, Frankford and FDA requirements prior to sampling or submitting.Ensure samples and art files include accurate legal lines, NLEA and UPC information.Effectively communicate schedule conflicts to Traffic Manager.Creates or modify die lines; Create UPC and UCCs.Additional ResponsibilitiesHelps obtain quotes and place orders for short run samples requests.Maintains workflow records & recommends improvements to processes.Experience with 3D printers is a plus.Photography experience is a plus.Qualifications1 - 3 years in a similar role, preferably in an agency or CPG company.Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and has good Photoshop editing skills.Demonstrated history of good communication and collaboration skills.Time management and organization skills are necessary to thrive in this position.Working knowledge of structural packaging materials and print processes not required, but helpful for a solid start.Please submit resumé, portfolio and cover letter to be considered for this position.
