Being an Equal Opportunity Employer, we strive to create a culture of community where anyone can reach their highest potential.The Construction Superintendent is responsible for providing technical expertise in the management and oversight of construction projects in accordance with the Company's standards and processes. The superintendent ensures adherence to construction schedules, budgets, safety programs, approved plans, drawings, specifications, codes and quality standards. The superintendent develops partnerships to build positive rapport with trade partners and municipality inspectors, internal stakeholders, and other employees of the company who may be impacted by their project or have a direct interest in its performance.Responsibilities:Oversight and implementation of the Company's health and safety program and ensure adherence to safety standards at the work sites and identification of hazards through safety inspections.Responsible for ensuring accidents are properly investigated and promptly reported.Coordinates closely with the project manager during construction to ensure schedule, budget, scope and quality goals are being met.Works with the project manager to resolves conflicts in the field by substituting products, altering construction plans and budgets in accordance with Company's standards, as well as the resolution of warranty claims during the first year.Responsible for assessing the need for variances in the budget and adjusting it where necessary.Evaluates construction progress and validates schedule progression.Conducts regular inspections of craft work and quality as well as ensure installation is as per specification.Determines when a project should be deemed completed before moving on the next phase of construction.Evaluates and assures compliance with local and state building codes and regulations and permitting requirements.Examines drawings and specifications for various work tasks and ensures current information is passed down to frontline supervision andor subcontractor leadership.Works with management team to share feedback and improve project planning activities, including, but not limited to: vendor selection, coaching and performance feedback.Authorizes payment for materials received and work completed and authority to approve payment if to Superintendent's 100% satisfaction.Works with the project manager on pre-project budgeting and scheduling activities.May contribute to some procurement activities.Responsible for managing time deadlines and ensuring timely completion and error-free construction.May be responsible for handling project scopes including site civil, structural, mechanical, electrical or a combination of those trades.Preparation of periodic reports relating to field activities (i.e. daily or weekly progress reports or work package updates).Qualifications:A high school diploma andor equivalent is required, however, a bachelor's degree is preferred in engineering, construction management or related degree.A 10-hour OSHA certification is required; however, a 30-hour OSHA certification is preferred.A minimum of 2 years of experience working in the commercial or industrial construction industry is desirable.Working knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines such as civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, piping, geotechnical, and surveying.Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.MS Excel, MS Project desirable.Highly motivated, with a demonstrated drive for excellence and taking initiative.Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right, efficiently and safely.Capable of using critical thinking to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environment.Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, suppliers and clients.Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives.Strong organization, multitasking, time management skills, and attention to detail.Physical Strain:Standard requirements. Bending, squatting, climbing, stooping, twisting and reaching will all be required occasionally in this position at the construction site.Being outdoors for long periods of time.Working some weekends when required.Lifting 10 pounds maximum with occasional lifting andor carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.May be required to work at heights of up to 100 feet.Job Type: Full-time
