The position is part of the Electrical Engineering team that is responsible for the operations and maintenance of the electrical substations, collection systems, electrical transmission lines, and major electrical components in the Acciona Energy North America fleet of renewable energy assets.Responsibilities:Lead electrical engineering projects within O&M for the maintenance and improvements of renewable energy facilities, including definition of requirements and specifications, review of engineering drawings and project management.Ensure high availability of equipment through an efficient preventative maintenance program of collection systems, substations, and transmission facilities between 12kV and 500kV.Analyze data to understand trends and system events for the purposes of reporting and process improvement.Development of processes and procedures to safely and effectively operate and maintain Acciona renewable generating facilities for "Best in Class Performance."Respond and provide technical assistance to field personnel in the areas of high voltage collection, substation, and transmission equipment up to 500kV. Provide electrical technical interface to support Procurement. Support the factory testing of the major electrical equipment to be installed at the renewable energy facilities.Provide engineering consulting support to other areas of the organization, including Construction and Power Marketing.Optimize power performance of electricity generating and collection system equipment.Develop reports for management regarding System status and System events.Assists higher-level engineers in handling complex problems and analysis.Evaluate system conditions, anticipate problems, and implement strategies to avoid or minimize issues which adversely impact the renewable power projects under the responsibility of Acciona Energy North America's System Operation CenterMaintain a current understanding of Acciona and renewable generation technology and professional development by participating in various training opportunities and reading Acciona and industry documents publications. Perform at Root Cause Analysis to accurately determine failure modes and causes.Support training, coaching, and mentoring electrical field technicians and operations staff in the preventative maintenance and operation of electrical distribution and control plete and maintain required and accurate documentation and records.Maintain required training certifications and proficiencies.Plan and direct switching and tagging for office and field personnel in the operation and restoration of the renewable energy assets.Specify, perform, and review power system studies, arc flash analysis, relay settings, and relay coordination.Build relationships with 3rd party service providers. Ensure work performed at renewable generating facilities conforms to all applicable regulatory and manufacturer requirements.Provide technical support in resolving codes and standards issues (NEC, NESC, NFPA 70E, ANSI, UL, IEC)Comply with applicable regulatory reliability standards and compliance requirements, including but not limited to, market rules and NERC Reliability Standards.Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for applicable NERC Reliability Standards.Other responsibilities as assigned.Requirements:Bachelor's Electrical Engineering degree (ABET accredited university) or equivalent required.Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited university) will count towards years' experience.Professional Engineering (P.E) License preferred, but not requiredMinimum of 5 years of experience in utility or power plant operations and maintenance. A Senior HV Electrical Engineer position will be considered for over 8 years of relevant experience. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide training on complex operationsDemonstrate continuous commitment to safe operations.
