Job Description:

Dodge Industrial Inc. is seeking a Metallurgist. This position provides metallurgical support to all Dodge product lines and interfaces directly with design engineering, manufacturing and supply chain management. This role is involved with all stages of the product life cycle, including new product development, product maintenance, product enhancement, vendor qualification, design validation and cost reduction.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:Provide metallurgical support for all Dodge product linesMetallurgical sample preparation, testing and analysisLab work order, equipment, test procedure, and capital managementAuthor and publish lab reports, material specifications and internal ternal technical consultant for design engineering, manufacturing and supply chain managementWork with manufacturing plants on process development, enhancement and maintenanceSupplier evaluation, qualification, and PPAP processingProcess improvement and cost reduction project supportNew product development and product enhancement project supportDirect participation in standards writing organizations and industry associationsContinual learning and development of metallurgical principals and testing procedures EDUCATION:Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Metallurgical Engineering EXPERIENCE:Minimum of 5 years' experience in metallurgical engineeringExperience with industrial products (bearings, gearing, couplings, bushings, sheaves, sprockets, pulleys, etc.)Direct hands on experience with metallurgical sample preparation, evaluation of ferrous microstructures, evaluation of through hardened bearing steel, carburizing, evaluation of carburizing steel microstructures, induction heat treating, mechanical testing of metals, cast iron, welding, nondestructive testing, powder metal, and familiarity with domestic and international material standards.Experience related to foundry and steel mill processes, metallurgical lab management, PPAP, Lean Six Sigma, additive manufacturing and capital project management is considered a plus.Must be currently authorized to work for Dodge Industrial Inc. in the US
