Job Description:

We're on the lookout for an enthusiastic Construction Superintendent who is not just familiar with the building process but is passionate about it. Your role will be essential in managing the building lifecycle, including the intricate dance of scheduling, coordinating, and supervising activities across various trade groups and disciplines. We're interested in someone who takes pride in being a builder and is eager to lead teams to construct outstanding educational facilities. This role is from Tampa to Orlando.Qualifications:A high school diploma or equivalent, bolstered by professional industry training and hands-on experience.At least 3 years of experience in ground-up construction projects, particularly within the academic sector (collegesuniversities).A minimum of 8 years in a supervisory role within similar construction environments, showcasing a deep understanding of construction technology, methods, equipment, and workforce management.A seasoned expert in construction scheduling, cost control, and the supervision of large teams.Experience with commercial projects valued at $15M or higher is highly desirable.A strong preference for candidates with experience in higher education andor K-12 construction projects.Openness to extended temporary living arrangements or frequent travel for non-local project sites is a must.Responsibilities:Lead and mentor Assistant Superintendents (on larger projects) and craft teams, optimizing construction methods, manpower allocation, material procurement, and equipment planning.Ensure a harmonious and efficient workflow among various crafts and coordinate seamlessly with different company departments and subcontractors.Establish and maintain communication with engineering, estimating, and planning teams to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and schedules.Actively engage in resolving on-site construction challenges and productivity issues.Work closely with the Labor Relations Department to liaise with unions, handle jurisdictional disputes, and manage manpower needs effectively.Enforce the project safety program, ensuring all protocols are followed and corrective actions are taken when necessary.Liaise with departments like Material Control, Purchasing, Quality Control, and Engineering to ensure project materials, equipment, and inspections support craft activities and adhere to the project timeline.Depending on the project size, you may be entrusted with managing all field operations with support from the main office.This position is ideal for a rising star in the construction management field who is ready to take on the challenge of leading high-value projects and eager to make a mark in the educational construction sector.
