General Shale, Inc., the nation's leading manufacturer of brick, masonry siding, and outdoor hardscape products, is seeking a Process Control Engineer at our corporate office in Johnson City, TN.Job Description:We are seeking a results-driven process control engineer to oversee and implement effective processes in our brick manufacturing plants. This will include developing new processes to reduce energy consumption, lower our carbon footprint, minimize human interaction, and enhance sustainable manufacturing. The successful candidate will work with our production facilities to perform system testing, implement cutting edge technology, and train operators to sustain the highest level of operation excellence while ensuring that our processes comply with industry specifications and regulations.To ensure success as a process control engineer, the successful candidate should demonstrate experience in optimizing control processes and specialization in a related field. A willingness to embrace new technologies and thinking outside the box with a knowledge of existing methods is expected.Responsibilities:Communicating clearly with all levels of management and operations.Optimizing and performing system "tune-ups" on existing manufacturing processes.Troubleshooting production issues.Identifying areas that need process control optimization.Developing new energy efficient, sustainable designs for process control.Recommending suitable automated solutions using appropriate software and computer-controlled devices.Training teams on the implementation of new processes and education on brick manufacturing fundamentals.Keeping process control operations within budget without compromising quality and efficiency.Documenting processes and preparing progress reports.Keeping abreast of developments and innovation in process control engineering.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in engineering, or in an industry-related field of specialization.Specialization in process control systems preferred.At least two years' experience in process control engineering in a related industry.Brick or ceramic industry experience preferred.Proficiency in project managementExtensive industry-specific process control knowledge.Excellent leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.Superb analytical and strategic thinking abilities.Great organizational, time management, and recordkeeping skills.Able to travel and comfortable with being away from home 2-3 nights per week.General Shale is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity in the workplace.
