R&D Fabrication and Assembly Specialist Modern Hydrogen Bothell, WA - Contract-to-hire - Onsite We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated High Precision Assembler and Fabricator to join our R&D team. This role requires a keen focus on precision assembly and a strong capability in part fabrication. The ideal candidate will have a mix of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and innovative environment. You will be expected to work on-site in our facility at least 5 days per week. This role will begin as a 1099 contract role. If there is mutual fit and interest, you will convert to a W-2 employee within the first 3 months. Modern Hydrogen is a Seattle-based cleantech startup. We decarbonize natural gas into clean hydrogen at the point of use. Key Responsibilities: Execute high-precision assembly tasks, ensuring adherence to stringent quality and specification standards. Fabricate parts and components as needed for assembly and additional projects, incorporating skills in welding, machining, and other fabrication techniques. Collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to identify and solve complex assembly challenges. Maintain detailed technical documentation and communicate effectively with team members regarding project status and needs. Engage in continuous improvement of assembly and fabrication processes. Support the development and scale-up of unique, first-of-its-kind clean energy technology. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: 5-7 years of experience in precision assembly and fabrication. Proficiency in SolidWorks and Fusion360; high competency in Microsoft Office Suite. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to innovate. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a proven ability to work well within an ambiguous work environment. Ability to stand for 6-8 hours and lift up to 50 lbs regularly. Preferred Qualifications: Relevant technical certifications or welding experience. Experience in an R&D or clean energy environment.
