Project Engineer - MechanicalHamilton, NJDirect HireGeneral:The Mechanical Engineer plans and conducts work requiring judgment, independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Successfully completes small to medium engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements. Works closely with the Project Managers (PM) or Senior Engineers for technical review and guidance.Responsibilities:Prepare basic deliverables and products including calculations, drawings, and specificationsSet deadlines and assigns responsibilitiesExamine field conditions as required to support development and completion of projectsDesign mechanical systems including calculations of heating and cooling loads while adhering to the firm's QAQC processSelect and layout mechanical equipment such as pumps, chiller, fans and boilersDevelop project specificationsAttend meetings with architects, owners and building managers to discuss future and or current projectsResponsible for meeting the client's project goals and objectivesAssist in business development by pursuing new work including participation in client presentationsAssist in the firm's human resource efforts through training and mentoring junior firm membersEnhances the firm's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing internal and external client requestsDemonstrates core values and serves as a role modelmentor to all firm membersUpdates job knowledge and technical expertise by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, participating in technical organizations and obtaining certifications in area of expertise and participating in the firm's Technical Committee as requestedPerform other duties as assigned SkillsQualifications:Bachelor's Degree from an accredited engineering programMinimum of 5 years of experience working in a consulting engineering firmComprehensive knowledge and interpretation of code compliance requirements and industry standardsStrong organizational, prioritization, decision making and analytical skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong influencing and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervision and in a highly collaborative team environmentAbility to consistently set goals and meet deadlines and adapt to flexible responsibilitiesProficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)Experience with Deltek or Project Resource Management software is preferredAbility to meet and exceed client expectationsRequiredPreferred Credentials:PE license is preferred
