Position: Quality Assurance ManagerPay RateSalary: $75 - $100K DOELocation: Turlock, CaSchedule: M - F, 8:00am to 5:00pmJob Description:The Quality Assurance Manager is directly responsible for the overall effectiveness and success of the Quality Assurance and Food Safety Programs. Develop and mentor professional growth and development of the Quality Assurance Supervisor and Laboratory staff. Represent as the Company's Food Safety Plan and Food Quality Plan expert.Duties and Responsibilities:Participate in SQF compliance and serve as one of the Company's designated SQF Practitioners.• Indirectly responsible for the day to- day management of the QA Laboratory Staff in the absence of the QA Supervisor.• Manage, oversee, and audit the Food Safety and Management Systems to include conformance to SQF level three, HACCP, USDA and international regulatory and food safety system requirements.• Lead and manage Customer Complaint Process.• Work closely with Production Management to assist with customer complaint resolution, non-conformance resolution, and preventative actions.• Responsible for the management and effectiveness of Sanitation and Housekeeping plan, including verification and validation of schedules and auditing.• Lead and manage foreign material and food safety events, product recalls, traceability, and mock recalls.• Drive increased organizational competence to ensure reliable and consistent production of high-quality dairy ingredients.• Manage Food Quality Plan and Food Safety Plan issues and recommend solutions.• Maintain and continue development of FDA, USDA, and international food regulatory requirements.• Responsible for ensuring plant facilities are audited and improvements are implemented to GMPHousekeepingFood Safety PlanFood Quality Plan.• Responsible for the development, enforcement, implementation and continuous improvement of the site Hygiene Zoning programs.• Responsible for environmental surveillance programs, ensuring effectiveness by proactively auditing, analyzing, and modifying systems.• Ensure compliance with regulatory and third-party agency food safety and public health requirements. Responsible for oversight of regulatory audits and compliance.• Responsible for the implementation, execution, and effectiveness of the Company's Pest Control Program.• Maintain a leadership role in the training and education of all employees through functional team meetings and working closely with Plant Operations to develop internal workshops and recommend external training, along with development of Operations and Quality Manuals.• Responsible for coordinating and maintaining QA Food Safety and Food Quality Budgets.• Act as Food Safety Lead, assisting Managers in Food Safety, HACCP, and regulatory compliance.• Achieve common business goals through cooperative alignment with all departments.• Participate in team meetings; suggest changes in work tasks and use of equipment to increase efficiencies and drive continuous improvement.• Ensure safe operations through adherence to Environmental, Health, and Safety programs and procedures.• Foster teamwork and embrace accountability.• Perform other duties as assigned.Education:• Bachelor Degree in Food Science or related field• 8+ years of food industry related experience required with demonstrated advancement in roles of increasing responsibility.• Knowledge of manufacturing methods, process improvement programs, and standard operating procedures.• HACCP, SQF, ISO and GFSI Certifications andor expertise.
