Overview:Florida Engineering is currently seeking an Assistant Structural Engineer to join there growing team. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience working for an engineering design firm leading and assisting on both commercial and residential structural engineering projects. Responsibilities of this role will include: Liaising with the in-house team and the client to procure the necessary project information.Calculation of design loads based on project location, geometry, local and state code requirements, occupancy and risk category.Design and analysis of structural members, cladding, finishes and connections based on the calculated loads using rational code-based methods and finite element analysis.Drafting and detailing of engineering plans based on design and analysis.Creating engineering calculation reports and letters for submission to clients and building departments.Key Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or related field - Master's degree is preferred Must have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) ExamActively working towards the Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) examExperience in calculations and structural analysis using rational as well as finite element methodsProficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) including: AutoCAD or SAP2000Excellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively and independentlyExperience in the engineering or construction industry is preferred Company Benefits & Perks401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceReimbursement for Engineering exams or certifications In-house team of over 25 PEs, where you can earn hours towards your PE LicenseFree Lunch everyday in office
