Job Description:

Great American is looking for Strategic Sourcing Director in our P&C IT Vendor Management Office. The selected candidate will lead a team of Supplier Sourcing and Performance professionals who are responsible for managing the end-to-end sourcing of technology products and services as well as supplier performance, across the organization. This individual will develop and execute sourcing strategies that align with the business objectives and deliver optimal value, quality, and innovation. The ideal candidate will oversee the vendor relationship, contract negotiation, risk mitigation, supplier performance and compliance activities for the IT category, and be a trusted advisor to IT and Business Leadership.Key responsibilities include:Establishing and maintaining strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, such as IT, Finance, Legal, and Procurement, to understand their needs and expectations, and provide strategic sourcing support and guidanceResponsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the IT Vendor Management OfficeDeveloping and implementing category-specific sourcing strategies, roadmaps, and best practices that optimize the total cost of ownership, quality, and performance of technology products and servicesLeading complex and high-value sourcing initiatives, including market research, RFP development, supplier evaluation and selection, contract negotiation, and implementation for Cloud, Hardware, SoftwareSaaS and Managed Services agreements.Managing and developing a team of sourcing professionals, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback, and ensuring adherence to sourcing policies and proceduresMonitoring and managing the performance, risk, and compliance of technology vendors, ensuring alignment with contractual terms and service level agreements, and resolving issues and disputes as neededIdentifying and driving continuous improvement and innovation opportunities within the technology category, leveraging market intelligence, industry trends, and emerging technologiesReporting and communicating the results and value of sourcing activities to senior leadership and other stakeholders, using data-driven metrics and analyticsJob Requirements-Education: Bachelor's degree in Technology, Business, Operations, Finance or related discipline or equivalent experienceExperience and Qualifications:10 plus years of experience in strategic sourcing roles, including leadership experience. Proven ability to build relationships with Suppliers and internal CustomersAbility to communicate and lead discussions with executive leadershipAbility to navigate formal and informal communication and decision making channelsExperience working or leading a sourcing, procurement or legal departmentSourcing experience in the IT category, i.e. services, software, hardware, SaaS including development of Managed Services agreements for IT servicesExcellent analytical skills, attention to detail and problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to apply organizational acumen to identify and maintain focus on key success for the organizationSecurities, Insurance, Financial Services Experience in IT is a plus-Completion of a professional designation preferred; appropriate designations could include Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Purchasing Sourcing Manager (CPSM).
